I received my undergraduate and medical degrees from UC, Davis, and completed my pediatric residency at the UCSF/Valley Children’s Program in Fresno, CA. Then, 17 years ago, I returned to Yolo County to join Woodland Healthcare. Today, I'm working with my second generation of patients!
I've enjoyed being a pediatrician at Woodland Healthcare, watching my own children grow up alongside my patients. Being part of a small community allows me the unique opportunity to care for my patients within the medical office, as well as maintain a close relationship with school nurses and local health agencies, enabling me to effect change in the health of our community beyond the hospital walls.
Woodland Healthcare offers physicians unique opportunities because of its medium size and excellent peer relations. Within the medical group, our pediatricians have decision-making control for our department. Our hospital is large enough to have a licensed NICU and Pediatric Ward, without being overrun by specialists who prevent us from practicing to the scope of our abilities. In addition, we're close enough to referral centers like Mercy San Juan Medical Center and UC Davis to easily collaborate with specialty back-up as needed.
Personally, this area is ideal because in my spare time I can be snowboarding in the Sierras, sipping wine in Napa or enjoying the beautiful Pacific Coast, all within two hours. I can even be at the airport in 15 minutes to catch a flight to go scuba diving!
